Defender of Minors

Yesterday we had lunch at Crepes and Waffles, then the kids had their immunizations in the afternoon. They are very fearful of shots! Sore arms last night, but otherwise okay.

Today we met with the Defender of Minors and our attorney. It was mostly a paperwork exercise. The lawyer found a problem with one birth certificate, which he will fix. Otherwise we are approved for the adoption... so off to La Mesa and the courts next week.

Afterwards we went to FANA to say hello and take a tour. It is a very nice building.

Rocio immediately found a little girl that she knew.

At the preschool we were swarmed by little children at one point, each saying "hola" and wanting a hug. Many of those children are from the neighborhood, and not orphans. No photos, as we are not allowed to show their faces due to privacy concerns.

We had a nice conversation with Elena (Director of FANA) and learned more about the girls life. She is a wonderful woman - who has been involved with the girls for some time. She said the girls would call her on the phone every day, and she would always take their calls or call them back.

Note: Our girls lived at San Mauricio, and FANA was just helping to find them a family and arrange the adoption.

Tomorrow Jorge will take us to an amusement park/zoo for the day. Another new adventure for the kids.
